I am writing Born in America, Raised by the Khmer Rouge because some stories are not meant to stay buried in silence.

This book is my attempt to give language to what it means to be born in America, but raised inside the aftermath of genocide. It is the story of a daughter who inherited survival before she ever understood trauma, who lived inside a home shaped by violence, pain, secrecy, and wounds that began long before her birth.

But this book is not only about what happened. It is about what God restored. It is about telling the truth without becoming trapped by it. It is about inherited pain, identity, faith, forgiveness, mental health, and the healing power of Christ.

I am writing this book for the daughters, survivors, families, and communities still carrying pain they were never meant to keep.
